Leicester City are looking to strengthen their goalkeeping options and have identified Nigerian goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo as a possible signing, SuperEaglesNG.com reports.
The Wrexham goalkeeper impressed last season, but his place in the team has come under threat after he lost his starting spot during parts of the current campaign.
According to football journalist Alan Nixon on Patreon, as cited by Football League World, Leicester are keeping a close eye on the situation and could make a move if Wrexham decide not to keep Okonkwo as their first-choice goalkeeper. The Foxes could sign him permanently or bring him in on loan.
Meanwhile, Wrexham are already looking at Sunderland goalkeeper Anthony Patterson as a possible replacement if Okonkwo leaves.
Moreover, Okonkwo has boosted his stock with strong performances for Nigeria. He kept clean sheets on his senior debut against Zimbabwe and in the Unity Cup final against Jamaica.
However, no deal has been agreed. Leicester’s interest remains a transfer rumour, and neither club nor the player has confirmed that a move is underway.
