Fulham have increased their bid for Super Eagles defender Chibuike Nwaiwu as they push to sign him from Trabzonspor this summer. The Premier League club now hopes to agree a deal after seeing its first offer turned down. – SuperEaglesNG.com reports.
Turkish newspaper Fanatik reported that Fulham raised their offer from €15 million to €20 million after Trabzonspor rejected the first bid. However, the Turkish club still want between €30 million and €35 million before they agree to sell the Nigerian defender.
Trabzonspor have not accepted Fulham’s latest offer and continue to hold out for a higher fee. The club have also started looking for another centre-back in case Nwaiwu leaves during the transfer window.
Fulham could return with a third offer if they remain determined to sign the defender. The negotiations continue, but the two clubs must agree on a transfer fee before the deal can go through.
