Mohamed Salah is staying in the Trabzonspor house formerly occupied by ex-Super Eagles forward Anthony Nwakaeme after joining the Turkish club.
Trabzonspor president Ertuğrul Doğan confirmed the arrangement while addressing reports about Salah’s accommodation in Trabzon.
“We currently have some houses in Trabzon that we’ve arranged for,” Doğan said, according to Fanatik. “For example, the house he’s staying in now is the same house Nwakaeme used to stay in.”
Doğan said Trabzonspor has several houses and villas for its players and dismissed claims about the property.
“There are about 7-8 houses there, villas, standard,” he said. “Certain images are circulating, but there’s no big fuss about it.”
Nwakaeme played for Trabzonspor in two spells and made 193 appearances for the club, scoring 50 goals and providing 48 assists.
He returned to Trabzonspor in July 2024 after leaving Saudi Arabian club Al-Fayha. He later helped the Turkish side win the 2026 Turkish Cup before ending his playing career.
Trabzonspor has since offered Nwakaeme a scouting role focused on African players. Club president Doğan said the Nigerian could use his knowledge and contacts to help identify talent on the continent.
Salah joined Trabzonspor after leaving Liverpool and signed a two-year contract with the Turkish club. Paul Onuachu and Chibuike Nwaiwu also remain in the Trabzonspor squad.
