Osimhen Set To Welcome Another Super Eagles-Eligible Star At Galatasaray

After starring in the Premier League, the Burnley midfielder is closing in on a move to Galatasaray, where Victor Osimhen awaits. The transfer could also keep him firmly on Eric Chelle's radar.

Victor Osimhen could soon welcome another Super Eagles-eligible teammate at Galatasaray after the Turkish champions agreed a deal to sign Burnley midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu — SuperEaglesNG.com reports.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that Galatasaray have agreed a deal worth around €30 million (approximately ₦47 billion) for the 22-year-old. Ugochukwu will complete the remaining formalities before the club announces the transfer.

The move will bring Ugochukwu and Osimhen together at Galatasaray ahead of the 2026-27 season.

Victor Osimhen Set To Gain New Galatasaray Teammate

Ugochukwu impressed for Burnley during the 2025-26 Premier League season despite the club’s relegation to the Championship.

He scored three goals and registered two assists in 35 league appearances. His performances convinced Galatasaray to make him a priority signing.

Manager Okan Buruk wants to strengthen his midfield before Galatasaray begin their Turkish Super Lig title defence and UEFA Champions League campaign.

Once he completes the transfer, Ugochukwu will join Osimhen in Istanbul.

Eric Chelle Continues To Monitor Midfielder

Ugochukwu has represented France at youth level but still qualifies to play for Nigeria at senior level. He has not made a competitive appearance for the French national team.

Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle continues to monitor the midfielder as Nigeria track several dual-national players.

If Ugochukwu completes the move, he will continue his development at Galatasaray while sharing a dressing room with Osimhen.

What The Move Means For Nigeria

Ugochukwu remains eligible to represent Nigeria despite featuring for France at youth level. FIFA regulations allow players to switch national teams if they have not played a competitive senior international. Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle has continued to monitor several dual-national players as he looks to strengthen his squad ahead of future international fixtures.

The midfielder’s proposed move to Galatasaray will also give him the chance to play alongside Osimhen throughout the season if the transfer goes through.
