Victor Osimhen has responded to reports linking him with Arsenal after scoring twice for Galatasaray in their 2-2 draw against Çorum FK.
Arsenal have discussed Osimhen with Galatasaray during talks involving Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri. Reports also put the asking price for the Nigerian striker at about €70 million (£58m).
However, Osimhen has played down the transfer talk and said he remains focused on his work at Galatasaray.
“Rumors always circulate during the transfer window. I’ll focus on my job. I’m focused on my work. We’ll see and think about the future then.”
After scoring twice in the match, Osimhen also stressed the demands of the new season.
“It’s going to be a tough season. As a team, we’re aware of that. I’m ready to give everything for the club.”
Osimhen scored Galatasaray’s first goal before adding the equaliser against Çorum FK. The result denied the Turkish champions a winning start to their campaign.
The striker also admitted that Galatasaray need to improve after dropping points in the match.
“I think this was an important match to wake us up. As players, we have a lot to work on. We need to give our all on the pitch.”
Meanwhile, Arsenal have held talks with Galatasaray while discussing Martinelli and Nwaneri. The discussions have brought Osimhen into the conversation as Mikel Arteta continues to assess options for his attack.
Galatasaray have also shown interest in Martinelli, while Nwaneri has featured in discussions between the clubs. Reports have suggested that Arsenal could consider a deal involving the two players.
Despite the Arsenal links, Galatasaray want to keep Osimhen. Club president Dursun Özbek previously rejected the prospect of selling the striker after the club received a reported €130m (£111m) offer from Al-Hilal.
“I will not sell Osimhen no matter how much money it is.”
Osimhen joined Galatasaray permanently from Napoli in 2025 after spending the previous season on loan at the Turkish club. He signed a four-year contract following his permanent transfer.
For now, Osimhen has left his future open while Arsenal continue discussions with Galatasaray. The Nigerian striker remains a Galatasaray player as the transfer window enters its final weeks.
