Super Eagles winger Henry Onyekuru has left Turkish Super Lig club Genclerbirligi after both sides agreed to terminate his contract.

The 29-year-old Nigerian forward will receive a settlement package of about €940,000 following negotiations between the club and his representatives.

The agreement includes €240,000 in unpaid wages from last season and €700,000 as compensation for the remaining value of his contract. Genclerbirligi will pay the amount in instalments over six months.

Why Henry Onyekuru Left Genclerbirligi

Genclerbirligi and Onyekuru agreed to end his contract before the start of the new season.

The winger joined the Turkish club on a free transfer last summer after leaving Saudi Arabian side Al-Fayha. Before the termination agreement, he was due to earn €1.6 million in salary during the upcoming campaign.

Onyekuru made 17 league appearances for Genclerbirligi during his time at the club.

Although he signed for Everton, he did not make a competitive appearance for the Premier League club.

The winger has also represented Nigeria at international level and featured for the Super Eagles in major competitions.
