Semi Ajayi will face Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro when Hull City visit Stamford Bridge on Saturday. Super Eagles NG reports that the Nigerian defender has started all three league games, played 244 minutes and scored in Hull’s 2-0 win over Manchester United.
Ajayi scored with a header against United, giving Hull an aerial threat from set pieces. Chelsea, meanwhile, have scored eight goals in their opening three league matches.
Palmer has scored twice, assisted once and registered 12 shots in three appearances. Joao Pedro has contributed two goals and two assists.
Chelsea have conceded seven goals during the same period. They beat Fulham 3-2, defeated Brighton 4-3 after leading by three goals and lost 2-1 to Arsenal.
Hull have taken seven points from their first three games under Sergej Jakirovic. They beat Manchester United 2-0, Coventry City 1-0 and drew 0-0 with Aston Villa.
The Tigers have used a 5-4-1 formation during that run and remain the only team across England’s top four divisions yet to concede a league goal.
Hull have also failed to win in 18 league visits to Chelsea, recording three draws and 15 defeats. Ajayi will now lead the defensive effort against Palmer and Joao Pedro as the Tigers seek their first away league victory over the London club.
