Arsenal have opened talks with Galatasaray over Victor Osimhen as the club considers a move for the Nigeria striker.
According to The Telegraph, Arsenal raised Osimhen’s availability during talks with Galatasaray over Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri. Sky Sports and ESPN also reported the discussions.
However, Arsenal have not made a formal offer for Osimhen. The talks have instead given the Gunners an opportunity to assess whether Galatasaray would consider selling the 27-year-old striker.
Meanwhile, Galatasaray have shown interest in Martinelli. The Turkish club have also asked about Nwaneri as they continue discussions with Arsenal.
Galatasaray reportedly offered about £38.5 million for Martinelli, although the Brazilian winger does not want to move to Turkey. Nwaneri has also attracted interest from clubs in Germany.
Osimhen joined Galatasaray permanently from Napoli in 2025 after spending the previous season on loan at the Istanbul club. Galatasaray paid €75 million for the striker and handed him a contract running until 2029.
The Turkish champions have already rejected a major offer for Osimhen from Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal. Reports put the rejected bid at about £111 million.
Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek previously made his position clear when he said:
“Osimhen is a world-class player, and he is happy here. We have no intention to sell Osimhen.”
Osimhen has also addressed recent speculation about his future. After Nigeria coach Eric Chelle discussed his situation, the striker responded:
“Unfortunately, his words have been taken out of context and exaggerated.”
Arsenal now have until 1 September 2026 to complete a Premier League transfer. The club must therefore reach an agreement with Galatasaray before the deadline if it decides to pursue Osimhen.
