Victor Osimhen could have Paul Pogba as a new Galatasaray teammate if the Turkish club moves for the French midfielder after his expected departure from Monaco.
Monaco are in talks to terminate Pogba’s contract after the 33-year-old suffered another injury during pre-season. He has played only 115 minutes across six appearances since joining the French club in 2025.
The latest injury does not appear to have triggered Monaco’s decision. Reports say the club had already been discussing Pogba’s departure for several weeks. If both sides reach a financial agreement, Pogba will become a free agent.
Pogba Has Previous Galatasaray Links
Galatasaray has previously featured in reports about Pogba’s future.
The Turkish club was linked with the midfielder during his previous search for a new team, while reports also connected Galatasaray with Pogba after his Juventus contract ended. Galatasaray’s interest has not translated into a confirmed transfer.
A fresh approach could now put Pogba back on the Turkish club’s radar as he searches for another team.
Osimhen Could Welcome Pogba
A Galatasaray move would put Pogba in the same squad as Osimhen.
The Nigeria striker signed permanently for Galatasaray from Napoli in 2025 for €75 million and agreed a contract running until 2029.
Osimhen has already established himself as a major figure at the Istanbul club. He reached 50 Galatasaray goals in 59 appearances in January 2026, becoming the fastest player in the club’s history to reach that mark.
What Pogba Said About His Comeback
Pogba returned to football after serving an 18-month doping suspension and joined Monaco to restart his career.
His Monaco spell has produced limited football, with his latest injury now threatening to bring the move to an early end.
Monaco general manager Thiago Scuro had previously left the door open to a change in Pogba’s situation.
“If it doesn’t work, for sure, the parties can sit down in the summer and have another discussion about where we go.”
Pogba must first complete his Monaco departure before Galatasaray or another club can formally pursue him.
A move to Istanbul would give Osimhen a new midfield option while offering Pogba another chance to continue his career in European football.
