Super Eagles striker Olanrewaju Kayode has completed a move to Turkish First League side Mardin 1969 Spor from Esenler Erokspor.
The 33-year-old has signed a one-year contract with the newly promoted club ahead of the 2026/27 season, with Mardin 1969 Spor confirming the signing on Friday.
Supereaglesng.com understands that Kayode arrives after an impressive campaign with Erokspor, where he scored 24 goals in 55 appearances in all competitions. His performances made him one of the club’s most consistent attacking players during the 2025/26 season.
Kayode Continues Turkish Journey
The move extends Kayode’s stay in Turkish football, where he has played for Gaziantep FK, Sivasspor, Ümraniyespor, Gençlerbirliği, Şanlıurfaspor and Erokspor.
Before moving to Turkey, the Nigerian forward featured for Austria Wien, Girona and Shakhtar Donetsk after signing for Manchester City in 2017. He also won league and cup honours during his time in Ukraine.
Mardin 1969 Spor earned promotion to the Turkish First League last season and have turned to the experienced striker as they prepare for the new campaign.
Super Eagles Forward Brings Experience
Kayode has represented Nigeria at Under-17, Under-20, Under-23 and senior level.
He made four appearances for the Super Eagles after receiving his first senior call-up in 2017 and remains one of the experienced Nigerian forwards playing abroad.
The striker has scored 94 goals in 299 senior club appearances across spells in Côte d’Ivoire, Israel, Austria, Spain, Ukraine and Turkey. His latest move gives him another opportunity to add to that record with Mardin 1969 Spor.
