Akor Adams Enters Nigeria’s Big-Money Transfer List After Reported ₦25bn Venezia Deal

Akor Adams is closing in on a reported ₦25bn Venezia move, but the deal could mean more than a transfer fee as the Super Eagles striker enters Nigeria’s biggest football transfer conversations.

Super Eagles striker Akor Adams has moved closer to joining Nigeria’s list of the country’s biggest football transfers.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano says Venezia and Sevilla have agreed a €16 million deal for the Nigerian forward. The fee is about ₦25 billion.

Neither club has yet announced the transfer. Doctors will carry out Adams’ medical before he completes the move.

Several clubs showed interest in the 26-year-old during the summer transfer window. Venezia won the race after reaching an agreement with Sevilla.

Akor Adams Joins Nigeria’s Biggest Transfers

The proposed move puts Adams alongside Nigerian players who have earned major transfer fees in Europe.

Victor Osimhen, Alex Iwobi and Victor Boniface have all completed high-value transfers during their careers.

Napoli paid about €70 million to sign Osimhen from Lille in 2020. That remains the highest transfer fee for a Nigerian player.

If the deal goes through, Adams will add another name to the list of Nigerian footballers who have secured major moves across Europe.

Adams began his European career with Sogndal before moving to Lillestrøm in Norway.

Montpellier signed him after his spell in Norway. Sevilla later brought him to Spain.

Now the striker looks set for his first experience in Serie A with Venezia.

Venezia secured promotion to Italy’s top flight last season and want to strengthen their attack before the new campaign begins.

Nigeria’s Biggest Football Transfer Deals

Nigerian players have continued to attract major fees from clubs across Europe.

Victor Osimhen remains at the top of the list after Napoli signed him from Lille in 2020. The deal made him the most expensive Nigerian footballer.

Other Nigerian stars have also completed big transfers. Alex Iwobi joined Everton from Arsenal, while Victor Boniface moved to Bayer Leverkusen after impressing in Belgium.

Akor Adams’ reported Venezia transfer adds another name to the list of Nigerian players who have secured major European moves.
