Samuel Chukwueze Biography
Samuel Chimerenka Chukwueze was born on 22 May 1999 in Amaokwe Ugba Ibeku, Abia State. He belongs to the Igbo tribe. Eze was raised in a Christian family with two younger siblings, a brother and a sister.
He attended Government College Umuahia, and Evangel Secondary School. He started playing football at age eight, idolising Jay-Jay Okocha and Arjen Robben.
His first club was with Future Hope. He moved to New Generation Academy, to Diamond Football Academy, and then to Villarreal’s youth setup in 2017.
Although Samuel Chukwueze has achieved great success in football, his mother still hopes he studies medicine or pharmacy. To ensure he focused on academics, she even burned his football shoes while he was growing up.

Club Career
Villarreal
Chukwueze joined Villarreal’s Juvenil A squad in 2017. He made his senior debut with Villarreal B on 15 April 2018 against CE Sabadell FC. His first senior goal came on 20 May 2018 against Bilbao Athletic.
He made his first-team debut on 21 September 2018 in the UEFA Europa League. His La Liga debut came on 5 November 2018 against Levante. In April 2019, he won the Nigeria Football Federation’s 2018 Young Player of the Year award.
